Mayflower Preparatory school was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Akyeampong on the 6th of January, 1996 with one student by name Benjamin Manford. The school which is located opposite the Bastonaa filling station was established after residence of Bastonaa met and convinced the family to start the school since both Mr. and Mrs. Akyeampong were teachers with multinational teaching experience gained after teaching in Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and Liberia.

The school grew in size to over 50 students during the term. Their children; Mensah Akyeampong and Josephine Akyeampong had to join the teaching staff of the school after completing Senior secondary school in 1996.

Presently, the school is being managed by their son Mr. Kow Mensah Akyeampong who graduated from K.N.U.S.T as a Chemical Engineer and fellowships at International Central Gospel Church (I.C.G.C) Sakumono.

Why we exist

The purpose of Mayflower School is to;

  • help children develop skills that maximize their lives opportunities and to develop active, effective citizens for democracy.
