The headmasterMr Kow Mensah Akyeampong is the current headmaster of this noble academic institution. He assumed office in 2004 and since then has brought massive innovative changes to Mayflower Preparatory School in terms of curriculae, infrastructure, teachers pay cheques and benefits.

PROFILE

A degree holder in Bsc. Chemical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. He is an entrepreneur and a co-founder of  Sarvaroga Company Limited, a herbal medicine company based in the Central region. He was also a co-partner in an Iodized Salt Company in 2003.

His love for teaching coupled with his affection for children, respect for his teachers and parents has ensured Mayflower Preparatory School is ranked among the best schools in Ghana.

ACHIEVEMENT

  • During his National service at Unilever Ghana Limited, he was very instrumental in ensuring the company was awarded with ISO 14001 certificate. 
  • With strategic thinking and innovative mindset, he started the the Junior High School and ensured a good foundation was laid for the department.
  • Under his leadership in 2006, the first batch of the Junior High School graduates recorded 100% score in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) with the school being ranked 14th in Tema.
  • It was during his term of office that teachers received a massive increment in pay and end of year benefits. The resultant effect of this move was another 100% record in the 2007 B.E.C.E  with the school being ranked 3rd in Tema district.
  • Whilst the headmaster of the school,the school received the Ayeeko Award for Excellence in the 2007/2008 B.E.C.E
